David is Director of commodity strategy at BNP Paribas, focussing on base, precious and battery metals. He joined BNP Paribas from WPIC (World Platinum Investment Council) where he was Research Manager focussing on platinum, palladium and rhodium markets. Prior to WPIC, David was head of metals research and trading strategy Freepoint Commodities, a major physical commodities trader. He has over 20 years of experience as an economist/analyst/strategist covering metals and energy markets. David also worked at Citi between 2011 and 2017 as Director of Metals Research and Strategy, Societe Generale as Director of Metals Research from 2008 to 2011 and for Norilsk Nickel from 2005 to 2008 as Senior Economist. David has held various positions including European Oil Markets Editor at Platts, Market Analyst at KWI covering European energy markets, and Senior Consultant at CRU International Ltd, covering aluminium and energy markets.
